There's optimism in Charlottetown about the number of new rental units set for construction in 2018. So far, there have been 820 units, including townhouses, approved for construction. That's up from last year when only about 135 units, including townhouses, were built in the city.
Tim Banks says a $16-million apartment building development he is proposing will be good for Stratford. The proposed construction is a 79-unit, five-storey apartment building located along the waterfront in the town.
The Town of Stratford received an application from Banks’ company, Pan American Properties Inc., to rezone a 1.32-acre portion of land from waterfront public space to waterfront residential. The parcel of land is located on the Southport Motel property.
Even in Charlottetown affordable housing is becoming a problem. Below is a link to a project that APM is trying to build in the downtown core right now.
