APM CEO offers insights on commercial real estate to international students

Jul 10 2012

On July 4, 2012, APM CEO Tim Banks hosted a group of International students in his office to lend his knowledge on commercial real estate on Prince Edward Island and in Canada.

Banks’ guests were Masters in Real Estate Development and Infrastructure students from India who were taking part in an intensive Summer Institute Program at the Homburg Institute in Charlottetown. This program is intended to provide in-depth learning experiences to its students by incorporating a range of teaching methods, including the opportunity to listen to and speak with industry professionals like Tim Banks.

First, Banks talked to the group about APM’s business model and projects.

“One of the things which makes APM successful is our ability to complete a project from start to finish and on time and on budget. We do the full gamut from design to project and construction management, to general contracting. We work directly with large multinational companies but also with small local businesses”.

Banks offered his advice to the students as they became engaged in a lively discussion about the future of commercial real estate and infrastructure in Canada.

“I think I learned just as much from them as they did from me. It’s interesting to see the differences and similarities we face in different parts of the world”.

Banks says he hopes to keep in contact with the students as they enter their careers.
