Canadian Paraplegic Association Chair Leaders event held today

CHARLOTTETOWN - CPA – PEI is very pleased to be hosting the third Annual “Chair-Leaders” Event Thursday, May 2nd. “Chair-Leaders” is an awareness initiative where leaders in our community spend a day using a wheelchair while going about their daily activities. Being a Chair-Leader highlights the need for accessibility for all residents in PEI.

We wanted 16 CHAIR-LEADERS and thanks to the following people our goal has been met. We would also like to say a big thank you to our major sponsors: APM, Delta Prince Edward, Grant Thornton, TD Bank and Scotiabank.

From 5pm-6pm on Thursday, May 2nd CPA-PEI will be hosting an end up day Reception at the Delta Prince Edward where all CHAIR-LEADERS will be acknowledged. You are welcome to attend.

CHAIR-LEADERS will tackle some of the barriers faced by persons with mobility disabilities in our community including public access to buildings, dining, transportation, and restroom facilities. This CHAIR-LEADERS event will bring a new-found awareness to our work for a more accessible Prince Edward Island.

The Canadian Paraplegic Association - PEI provides essential services such as Rehabilitation Support and Service Coordination, Community Development and Systemic Change, Peer Program, and Information Services.
