General contracting follows a design-bid-build process which is typically delivered under a lump-sum or cost-reimbursable contract.  General contracting is a common method of project delivery, particularly for public sector projects where work is primarily awarded based on a competitive bidding process.

This method means that the client is responsible to work with architects and/or engineers to create and finalize the necessary drawings and specifications for the project.  After the design process is completed, the drawings are issued for pricing and the client selects their general contractor through a bidding process.

APM's general contracting team provides a confirmed price to its clients after the design is complete as well as before construction begins.  APM generally assumes the risk of any cost overruns based on the clearly defined budget and defined scope of work.
