Stratford -- Southport Home Hardware today announced that it has been awarded a Home Furniture franchise for their store in Stratford.
Home Furniture is the national brand for the furniture sales program operated by the Home Hardware Company of Canada. It is part of Home Furniture's mission to supply quality products and to provide customers with competitive prices and superior service.
"We are thrilled to be adding a line of furniture to the range of products and services we offer," said Paul Daley, General Manager of Southport Home Hardware. "The Home Furniture program has an excellent reputation across Canada and on the Island. The quality of the merchandise is outstanding and the value to customers is competitive with all major furniture retailers."
Southport Home Hardware has been in business for over 50 years. In 2000, a move to a new store in the heart of Stratford made Southport Home Hardware the largest Home Hardware in Canada. The store offers a wide range of products and services for all household or commercial needs from building supplies, paint and décor products to housewares, appliances, automotive servicing and a garden centre. The new furniture department will be accommodated in 9000 sq.ft. of space on the store's second floor. The existing decorating department, headed by Kathleen Rafuse, will also be moved into the furniture program.
"Adding a line of furniture really completes the picture," said Mr. Daley. "If you are building, renovating or simply doing a touch up to your home or business we have everything you need under one roof."
Robbie MacLean, who has worked in the flooring department at Southport Home Hardware for several years has accepted the position of Manager of the new Home Furniture store. The new Home Furniture outlet will officially open on Friday, June 27, 2003.
