Jun 27 2012

CHARLOTTETOWN - APM, premier sponsor of the APM Holland College Hurricanes Football Club, is excited with the news that one of its players may have the opportunity to play for the Canadian Football League. Souris native and 2011-2012 Hurricanes captain, Marcus Dunphy was invited to train in front of CFL representatives after leading his team to win the Atlantic Football League Championships last season.

Earlier this spring, Dunphy had the opportunity to play in front of Toronto Argonaut’s head scout. A month later, he attended a CFL minicamp where representatives of each of the CFL’s eight teams were on hand to watch him perform.

Tim Banks, CEO of APM, offers his congratulations to Dunphy.

“For the last two years, Dunphy has been an outstanding team player. He puts his best effort into everything he does”.

Banks goes further to say how Dunphy’s success is a reflection of the community.

“I appreciate the chance to back a program that is such an asset to the college, and our Island”

At the team’s annual banquet this spring, Dunphy was awarded the APM defensive player of the Year Award.
