APM reaches $100,000 in contributions to the IWK Health Centre

Jun 3 2014

CHARLOTTETOWN – With another $13,000 worth of donations to this year’s IWK Health Centre’s Annual Telethon for Children, APM reaches the $100,000 mark in donations to the medical centre.

Since 1999, APM’s Atlantic Canadian staff members have contributed in a variety of ways to the hospital including payroll deductions, raffles and barbeques and the company matches all staff donations. Furthermore, for the third year in a row, APM took part in the Telethon’s Miracle Match where for three minutes the company matched the amount pledged by viewers. APM staff also volunteer each year to take phone pledges during the Telethon.

This year’s campaign raised a record-breaking $6.1 million dollars in total. A Maritime tradition, the Telethon helps the IWK Health Centre – the region’s specialized care children’s hospital - purchase much needed medical equipment, fund research, and support special programs for families who must use the hospital.
