A new strip mall is set to be built in Montague, behind
McDonald's Restaurant, with the Montague Service Canada office
as the main tenant. APM will construct and own the one story
building.
APM president Tim Banks said construction
will be starting mid-June. Mr. Banks said about 5,000 square
feet of the building will be for Service Canada offices, and the
total size of the building will be in the 10,000 - 12,000 square
foot range. He said APM tendered on the building last year.
Service Canada will be a tenant in the
building, and has a lease for 10 years, beginning January 1,
2009, with an option for a five year extension.
Darcy Truen, spokesperson for Public Works
and Government Services Canada, said the lease on the space
currently occupied by Service Canada at 541 Main Street is
due to expire in January 2009.
"It'll be a nice building," Tim Banks
said.
