Charlottetown - One of the largest private sector employers
in PEI is asking Charlottetown city council to approve plans
for a 5 story head office on the waterfront.
Atlantic Project Management better known as APM Group is a
construction and property development company doing business
in all four Atlantic Provinces. It has a branch office in
Dartmouth and was the developer for the DES call centres in
Sydney and Port Hawkesbury.
APM has also done development and construction projects for
Loblaw, Sears, Killam Properties and the Nova Scotia Liquor
Commission. The company has annual revenues of $85 million
and 400 employees in PEI and Nova Scotia.
Council will be holding a meeting later this week to gauge
public input on the proposal.
The 45,600 foot building would require a rezoning change
since the waterfront is a comprehensive development area and
development is tightly controlled.
There are a number of office buildings in the area but none
as large as APM is proposing.
