Construction started to build new Prince Edward Home
June 15, 2011

CHARLOTTETOWN – APM Construction Services Inc. has begun the construction on a new long-term care facility for Islanders.

This building will replace the former Prince Edward Home, built in 1932 adjacent to Victoria Park.  This project has a budget of $18 million and will be built on six hectares near the Upton Farm.  Building plans for this project are available here (links to plans on website).

Duane Lamont, President of APM Construction Services Inc., is excited to be moving forward with this project.

“This facility will be a beautiful, state-of-the-art building that Islanders can be proud of,” said Lamont “ Inc. already has an impressive Institutional building portfolio and we are looking forward to seeing the final product of the Prince Edward Home.”

APM Construction Services Inc. is the project manager on the new Charlotte Court Senior’s Complex and is the construction manager for Queen Elizabeth Hospital Ambulatory Construction Centre.  We have also done a number of institutional projects, including North Battleford, RK MacDonald, Cumberland College, l’Ecole St-Augustin and more.  To date, we have done over $200 million in Institutional construction.
