Storemark Supports Basketball Tournament

Montague – Fred Henderson, President of Storemark, located in Poole’s Corner, recently presented Kevin Stonefield, principal of Montague Intermediate, with a cheque for $1200 as the main supporting sponsor of the Montague Intermediate “Storemark Storm Warning Invitational basketball tournament” scheduled for Dec 8–10.

Montague will host the biggest midget aged basketball tournament in the Maritimes, which includes more than 24 teams. Off-Island teams will come from Nova Scotia schools that include Mew Glasgow, East Hants, Amherst, River Herbert and Pictou. The Island teams will come away from as far as Hearnwood in the West and Souris in the East. This year organizers are looking for teams from New Brunswick as well, and opening up a girl’s division for the first time.

Basketball fans of all ages are invited to take in the action be it for one game or the whole weekend. In addition to Storemark, sponsors included Montague Pizza Delight and Coke Products Limited.
