APM staff continue fundraising efforts for IWK Health Centre

Jun 4 2012

CHARLOTTETOWN/HALIFAX - APM is proud to announce that the recent 28 Annual IWK Telethon for Children marked a landmark of over $75,000 raised by the company for the hospital since 1999.

APM has partnered with the Children’s Hospital for over a decade via fundraising efforts including casual days, raffles, and participation in the IWK Telethon.

This year’s Telethon was special for APM, not just because of our continued, growing participation, but also because of our landmark donation achievement.

APM staff including Wendy Quinn, Anne Marie O’Rourke, Jody Taylor, Heather Joudrie, Lisa Guertin, Ryan Nesbitt, Josh Burns, John Dalton, and his son, Max, all volunteered their time on Sunday to raise money for the IWK.

Above and beyond collecting pledges, APM participated in the telethon’s Miracle Match. VP Business Development John Dalton spoke on CTV for three minutes, during which time APM agreed to match the viewer’s pledges up to $5000. In those three minutes, over $6000 was raised.

APM CEO Tim Banks says that this continued effort on behalf of APM is a direct result of the staff’s passion for giving back to the community.

“The IWK is an important tenet of the Atlantic Canadian community,” says Mr. Banks. “We’ve been supporting them for over ten years because they do some of the most important work around.”

Mr. Banks says that this annual contribution is an important, organic part of the APM culture.

“Our staff does this on their own time every year. APM is happy to match the contributions that our staff make because we are inspired by their willingness to give back to the community. We look forward to working with the IWK for years to come.
