There was a feeling of excitement at the PEI Music awards finale Saturday night at the Harbourfront Jubilee Theatre in Summerside. And that feeling continued throughout the lively three-hour concert as 20 awards to Island talent were handed out.

On Saturday, Ninth Hour picked up awards for pop/rock/alternative group of the year and gospel group of the year. On Friday night they received pop/rock/alternative recording of the year and gospel recording of the year.

"It's exceptional . It's phenomenal," said band member Chris MacKinnon. "We're happy to get one award, but to get four over the weekend is really exciting." While it's nice to get recognized for their music, they wanted to direct the praise heavenward.

"We're doing it for the Lord. We thank God for our music," said band member Dean MacKinnon.
